Skylar Wilks, and Inspired Fishing Company are the inevitable byproducts of being Florida born and Florida grown. Capt. Skylar grew up fishing the coastlines, bays, lakes, rivers and ponds—and anywhere else that had a couple feet of water. Growing up Capt. Skylar spent his summers and spare weekends at his grandparents, with his line in the water at Madeira Beach, as well as central Florida fishing the Indian River. He ultimately fell in love with the gulf and the bay, catching trophy reds, snook, and trout from Clearwater down to Sarasota, and everywhere in between. When college called, Capt. Skylar moved a bit south, spending 4 years fishing the waters of Pine Island, Fort Myers, Port Charlotte, Estero, and Sanibel while playing Division 1 soccer for Florida Gulf Coast University and majoring in Business Management.
In 2015, he returned home to the place where he first fell in love with fishing and opened this Company to inspire others in the same way that fishing has inspired him.
Skylar is of course US Coast Guard licensed and insured.
